Abstract
Length of stay (LOS) is a well-established quality metric following colorectal surgery. Recent evolvements in the field have aimed to reduce LOS, including the growing use of minimally invasive techniques and enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) pathways. The aim of the current study was to evaluate the impact of the implementation of a patient education protocol on LOS following colorectal surgery. The secondary outcome was to evaluate its impact on readmission rates within 30 days.
