Database Framework for Assessing Fundraising Effectiveness in Booster Clubs
Abstract
Fundraisers are essential for booster clubs to support programs, yet many lack a structured system to track opportunities, activities, and financial outcomes. This often leads to inconsistent fundraising efforts, missed opportunities, and unpredictable revenue. This project proposes a centralized relational database designed to track and analyze fundraising activities, events, financial performance, and volunteer participation. By capturing data such as donations, expenses, and volunteer hours, the database enables standardized reporting and meaningful performance metrics. Using SQL-based analysis, the system evaluates fundraising events based on net profit, total volunteer effort, and efficiency measures such as profit per volunteer hour. The results provide a data-driven foundation for identifying fundraising activities that generate the greatest financial return relative to the time and resources invested. The hypothesis is that a centralized fundraising database enables booster clubs to better evaluate fundraising performance, prioritize high-yield activities, and improve financial sustainability for their sports programs.
