Abstract
Game development is something I have been interested in for a long time, as a software engineer. Through an independent study this semester I have been able to find a game engine, Godot, and develop a proof of concept for a 3D game. This game is made fully using free assets I found online, and includes multiple features such as moving a character through environments, being able to shoot at targets, having cut-ins where minigames occur, and fighting in a small arena. I met with my professor on a bi-weekly basis and discussed my progress and development direction. I was learning as I go about everything that goes into game development, like scene management, control scheme setup, design principles, character and enemy controls and much more. I would like to show off this creative project in the form of a demo and include some tidbits on the programming and logic behind some of the main features.
