Abstract

This project explores how different audio environments—music, lecture videos, and silence—affect study focus and productivity. Over a two-week period, I recorded multiple study sessions under each condition, documenting focus scores (on a 1–5 scale) and the number of uninterrupted study minutes. The purpose of this study is to understand whether certain auditory settings can enhance concentration during independent learning. Data will be collected consistently each day and analyzed using RStudio to calculate averages and visualize patterns with bar charts and boxplots. A t-test and one-way ANOVA will be used to determine whether differences between audio types are statistically significant. The results may provide insight into which sound environment best supports sustained attention and efficiency—an important factor for students and professionals aiming to improve study or work habits. This research connects everyday behavior with measurable data to make evidence-based conclusions about focus improvement.
